1/17-  Strength In Motion owner and director of strength and conditioning, Corey Parker, was a featured instructor on ABC’s affiliate, WSYR Channel 9 morning show “Bridge Street” for there week long segment titled “Fit-Tastic 2008”.  Accompanied with performance coach Jenna Tuberdyck, Coach Parker gave two, five- minute instructional lectures.  The first topic covered glute strengthening and toning, while the second was geared toward shaping the legs.  To watch the videos, follow the links below;

         In the past several months, a total of seven S.I.M. athletes have been named Athlete of the Week.  They are: Ben Cronin (Henninger), Brandon Triche (J-D), Connor Sweeney (Bishop Ludden), Nick Moran (Central Square), Latavius Murray (Onondaga), LJ Papaleo (CBA), Stefanie Rice (Skaneateles).  All of there videos can be found at the link above as well

1/4-
Adam Sweet (Weedsport, NY) of the RIT men’s basketball team scored a career-high 16 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and 5-of-6 shooting from the line in a win over Division III number 13th ranked Stevens Institute of Technology.

1/2- Michigan running back Mike Hart ended his college career with a win over Florida in the Capital One Bowl.  In the game, Mike had 32 carries for 129 yards and two touchdowns.  He finished his career with 1,015 carries for 5040 yards and 41 touchdowns.

12/ 30- CBA wide receiver Marcus Sales announced he will sign with Syracuse University.  Sales will join Ian Allport (who recently gave his verbal commitment), Lavar Lobdell, and Ryan Novak as Strength In Motion athletes on the team.
           
            -In the Mayor’s Roundball Classic final, Ben Cronin notched a triple- double with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 blocks.

            - Jeff Watson scored 17 points including a pair of free throws with 10 seconds remaining to beat Westhill. 

12/ 29- ADDITION- Quincey Spagnoletti made the First- Team CNYCL National.

12/ 28- Ben Cronin put up 18 points, 21 rebounds, and 8 blocked shots in a win over rival Corcoran.

12/ 27- Marcellus midfielder Rachel Farneti was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/ Adidas High School Girls All- Region II (East) Team.

           - Onondaga running back Latavius Murray was named Gatorade New York Football Player of the Year, and was also a finalist for the Gatorade National Player of the Year.  In basketball, Murray recently scored 37 points in a win over Class- AA Vestal.

            -Brandon Tiche scored 23 points in a win over Port Chester in the Westchester Slam Dunk Challenge in White Plains, NY.

12/12-
Congrats to Michigan running back, Mike Hart (Onondaga), on being a Second Team All- American selection.

11/28- University of Rhode Island football player Joe Casey (Westhill) was named to the Colonial Athletic Association first team.

11/28- In Girls high school tennis, Caitlin O’Leary (F-M) was named to the CNYCL second team in doubles.

- University of Michigan senior tailback and co-captain Mike Hart (Syracuse, N.Y./Onondaga Central HS) was named the 2007 BO SCHEMBECHLER MOST VALUABLE PLAYER of the 2007 football team. Hart shared the award with linebacker David Harris last season.
Hart, the nation's fifth-leading rusher, carried the ball 233 times for 1,232 yards and 12 touchdowns this season in just 9 full games due to an injury. He is Michigan’s all-time leading rusher and surpassed the 100-yard barrier in the first eight games of the season, setting a U-M record, and added seven catches for 43 yards. Hart is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award (Most outstanding running back) for the second straight season.

11/26- Congratulations to the West Genesee and Bishop Ludden football teams on their State Championships. - Jon Ferris (Liverpool) played in the inaugural game for the Syracuse Raging Bullz of the American Basketball Association.  The Bullz beat Houston 100- 71.

11/8 – Section III Class A champions Marcellus beat Schalmont in a regional game.  The Mustangs’ star striker Alex Rouse scored twice as the team won 3-1. 

11/7- Congratulations to running back Latavius Murray (Onondaga).  Murray has given his verbal commitment to play college football for the University of Central Florida.  You can read all the articles in a series called “Life of Latavius” by Donna Ditota for the Post- Standard found at Syracuse.com

11/6- Lauren Colligan assisted on a goal in the first-half that led Cazenovia to a 1-0 win in the Section III Class C/D Field Hockey Championship.
 
11/ 4- Kyle O’Laughlin (Onondaga) of the Hobart College football team was named Liberty League Co- Rookie of the Week.  O’Laughlin had three solo tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception in a win over Union.

11/2- Center defender Lauren Colligan led the defense as Katie McLean assisted on the winning goal as Cazenovia beat Little Falls 1-0 to win the Section III Class C field hockey semifinal matchup.

11/2- In the Section III Class AA boys soccer semifinal, Fayetteville- Manlius won 4-1 in a shootout after a 1-1 tie in regulation.  Mike Kutzer assisted on the game tying goal with 3:50 left to play.  Kutzer later scored in the shootout.

10/2- In soccer, L.J. Papaleo had another hat trick for the Brothers, who pulled into a first-place tie in the OHSL Freedom.

10/2- In girls tennis, A three-set victory in third doubles by Carolyn Jannetti and Kathleen McDermott won it for Westhill.  Jannetti and McDermott's win completed a Westhill sweep in doubles.

9/28- Senior quarterback Connor Sweeney also played a large part in Bishop Ludden’s victory. Sweeney scored one TD and threw for 109 yards and a touchdown.

9/28- Jesse Dinneen scored twice as Solvay cruised to an easy victory over Class B West opponent Jordan-Elbridge.

9/28- Will Fiacchi passed for 230 yards and four touchdowns, two to Jeff Watson who totaled 136 yards receiving, as Marcellus beat Skaneateles.

9/28- Latavius Murray rushed for 269 yards and five TDs to lead the Tigers past Watertown IHC. Murray went over the 1,000-yard mark and now has 1,135 yards for the season. Four of his scores came on the ground. Murray reached the end zone a final time on a 46-yard punt return.  Teddy Zabel also threw for a TD.

9/19- In boy’s soccer, L.J. Papaleo had a hat trick for the Brothers. It was Papaleo's second straight three-goal game as he leads the Onondaga League with 12 goals.

9/19- Also in boy’s soccer, Mike Kutzer (Fayetteville- Manlius) scored the game-tying goal with 7 minutes to play in regulation as F-M tied Liverpool 1-1
